Elder Abuse Services Inc. · Fresno & Madera Counties

Every elder deserves safety, dignity, connection, and belonging.

EASI educates, trains, and connects the community to prevent elder abuse — and is building Elder Justice Fresno to close the gaps in how Fresno and Madera Counties respond.

We believe every elder deserves to live with dignity, respect, and safety.

Compassionate support. Victim-centered care.

What elder justice requires

Prevent. Respond. Stabilize. Restore.

A complete elder justice response needs all four: education before harm, advocacy during crisis, safe stabilization after abuse, and restoration when healing is possible. Some of that capacity exists in Fresno today, some EASI provides, and some EASI is working with partners to build.

Prevent

Education & awareness

Elders, families, caregivers, students, and professionals who can recognize abuse, reduce isolation, and respond early.

EASI today: community education and presentations. Elder Story, an EASI program for intergenerational connection, is preparing a proposed 90-day pilot.

Respond

Advocacy & crisis support

Trusted pathways for reporting, safety planning, victim advocacy, and navigation when harm is happening.

Today: Adult Protective Services, the Long-Term Care Ombudsman, and local crisis lines are existing resources. Additional local advocacy is a pathway EASI is developing.

Stabilize

Safe housing & support

Emergency housing, transportation, care coordination, and stabilization for elders who cannot safely stay where they are.

Building next: EASI is working to organize this capacity through Elder Justice Fresno, starting with an Emergency Placement Network in development.

Restore

Restorative elder justice

When safe, voluntary, and appropriately staffed: accountability, family repair, mediation, and long-term healing.

Building next: a restorative elder and family practice pathway is in development. It is not yet a referral service.

Who we are

A Fresno-born elder justice organization.

EASI is the nonprofit institution for elder abuse prevention, community education, advocacy development, training, program design, and long-term elder justice capacity. Elder Justice Fresno is the community initiative EASI is building to connect existing resources, develop missing partnerships, and create clearer local pathways.

About EASI and its history

What elder abuse can look like

Elder abuse is rarely simple. It often happens inside love, fear, dependence, and family.

The scenarios below are illustrative and fictional. They show common patterns and needs; they are not EASI client stories.

Family violence, financial exploitation, isolation

Jane's Story

Jane wanted the abuse to stop, but she also loved her grandchildren deeply.

From our history

Seniors Transitioning to Assistance and Restoration.

EASI’s early vision centered on safe, elder-appropriate emergency housing. That purpose continues as EASI works toward community-based placement partnerships, stabilization support, restorative options, and long-term planning for elder-specific safe housing.

Community can help

Elder abuse prevention begins with connection.

Isolation can increase vulnerability. A call, a visit, a question, or a report can interrupt harm before it becomes a crisis.

Call or visit an elder you know.
Support someone who is caring for an elder.
Learn the warning signs of abuse.Do not ignore your concerns.
Ask professionals how they respond to suspected abuse.
Volunteer, train, or partner with EASI.

Elder Story Project

Help an elder tell a story only they can tell.

EASI is preparing students, interns, and community volunteers to listen to and preserve stories about work, family, service, neighborhoods, culture, change, and the things older adults want younger generations to remember.

Training & community education

Elder abuse training deserves a real home.

EASI is turning its long education history into adaptable presentations and training for community members, facilities, organizations, students, volunteers, and practitioners.

Building toward 2027

Building Elder Justice Fresno.

Elder Justice Fresno is the community initiative EASI is building toward 2027: mapping what already exists, naming where gaps remain, and developing partnerships and pathways one at a time — including emergency-placement readiness and restorative options when safe and appropriate. It is not yet a service provider. If someone needs help now, start with the existing resources below.
